John Harmer
John's solo exhibition’s with Weald Contemporary Lumen (2023) & Terrain (2024) demonstrated the fidelity he brings to a scene or atmosphere, coinciding with a clear delight in materials and process; with works often laying between the abstract and figurative taking on a quality which leaves the time or place unexplained, inviting our imagination to roam and fully appreciate the aesthetic.
Harmer is clearly fascinated by the relationship between landscape and architecture; how they are depicted in disparate media, and broadened to how natural forms and buildings co-exist in an immediate environment.
