Scott McCracken
(b. 1987, Falkirk) is a painter and occasionally writes about painting and organises exhibitions. He received his BA and MFA at Edinburgh College of Art (2005-11) and studied at Turps Art School (2015-17). In 2017 he was awarded the Darbyshire Prize for Emerging Art and in 2019 he was shortlisted for the Contemporary British Painting Prize. His work has been exhibited in solo exhibitions at Thames-Side Studios Gallery, London; Hi10, Skien; Borough Road Gallery, London; Darbyshire’s Ltd., London; Bargain Spot Project Space, Edinburgh and Andrew Grant Gallery, Edinburgh College of Art. Group shows include OHSH Projects, London; HilbertRaum, Berlin; APT Gallery, London; Kingsgate Project Space, London, Terrace Gallery, London; Bankley Studios & Gallery, Manchester. He is Programme Leader (Correspondence Course) and mentor at Turps Art School and is a regular contributor of Turps Magazine.
