Inspired by his extensive archive of domestic motifs, the large scale painting works of Edward Liddle encourage viewers to think about the relationship between art, craft, design and the hierarchy of display.

“My works are modular and are exhibited as installations, incorporating one or several of the transformed motifs. At any one point, viewers could be interacting with motifs of everyday net curtains or the carpet from the United States House of representatives.”
