My practice revolves around the vibrant interplay of colour and memory. I'm interested in how natural landscapes are embedded within us, both emotionally and spiritually. Working from observation and memory, with a focus on mark making, colour and composition. Through the mediums of painting, drawing, and textiles, I hope to weave intimacy and tenderness. With the aim to open a dialogue and explore feelings of familiarity between the viewer and subject. My approach is to apply thin layers of paint, pastels, and fibres, instinctively building up layers of colour and light. This deliberate approach is rooted in the act of remembering a place and the associated emotions. unlocking the nuanced sounds and ethereal play of light embedded within those memories.
